Wellness Programs

OK! So you've done your due diligence as an employer and have worked with Stay Liquid to determine and decide upon the best benefits package for your business and employees. Gold Star! You're finished, right?....WRONG!  
As the old adage goes, a ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. Nowadays, healthcare providers are doubling down on "preventative medicine" in order to avoid the inconvenience, necessity, and -dare I say - cost of pursuing a cure. You too, as an employer, can likewise invest in your employees by implementing an office-wide wellness program. I know the idea of creating rolling-out another program can sound intimidating (especially after open-enrollment), but wellness programs can be simple and start with something as simple as healthy food alternatives in the vending machines, a lunch-time walking group, or common, manageable health goals to which everyone can collectively aspire. Still feeling uninspired? Try this: send out an office-wide email posing the idea of a wellness program. Put a bulletin board up in a common area accompanied by some index cards, markers and push pins. Ask people to write an idea on a index card and pin it on the board. Then have a vote on which ideas the office wants to try out . There! You've just planted the seeds for your very own homegrown wellness program AND driven employee engagement.
