Most of you have heard the expression “Happy wife, happy life.” It’s catchy and without arguing its truth or merit (we are going to leave that waaaaaay alone), I think we all get the gist of it. Maintaining the individual components that comprise a bigger unit is necessary to keep it going whether that it be a machine or an enterprise. So for purposes of this post we are going to amend that catchy phrase and say “happy employees, happy business.” No matter how brilliant its concept, it is the employees that keep the business going. They are the beating heart of any enterprise and as such they require TLC. The happier the employee, the better their performance will become and the better your business will be. Now, the proper care and feeding of employees will look different for each business; there is no universal formula, but take a second to consider how invested you are in your employee’s happiness.
