Getting Sued: Bad. Not Getting Sued: Good!

Not getting sued is good, right? "Duh, Captain Obvious," you're probably saying to yourself (and possibly the computer screen). 
So then let me ask you this: What affirmative steps are you taking to avoid that most unpleasant of circumstances? No, I'm not talking about making sure that there aren't any errant banana peels lying around just asking for a smash-and-grab "slip and fall" lawsuit. I'm talking about in your everyday practices with customers. We're living in quite the litigious society these days and folks will sue over the slightest infraction, dissatisfaction, or displeasure. A lady even sued a movie theater because the previews were to long (true story). Come to think of it, I actually might have added my name to that lawsuit, but I digress. My point is there are ways to tighten up your business' modus operandi to ensure consistent customer satisfaction and - you guessed it - avoid getting sued.
